Tim Prow's 'Antiquis Malleum' WIP from Eastern Front Miniatures

Just a quick newsflash really. Mick Leach has shared the latest update on the Antiquis Malleum project on several closed Facebook groups. Feedback has been, as you would imagine, very positive indeed. So I thought it worthwhile sharing a few of the snaps with readers of Realm of Chaos 80s.

And here they are!

So what do you think? Remember, Mick is very interested in the views of the Old School/Oldhammer Community so if you have an opinion or suggestion please do make it.

You might even see it in a green of the future!

  1. Oh-ho! Now that's coming along splendidly! I particularly like the almost mandible-like feel to the helmet as it covers the wearer's mouth. More please.

  2. Very, very nice. I really love the heavily-ornamented armor, and the way the armor seems to have a life of its own. Incredibly characterful and in-keeping-with-the-spirit of the old times. Great work!

  3. The sculpture is wider then the illustration and it is a good thing I think. I look forward to seeing shoulders ended. The position of the warrior is very suggestive and dynamic but I don't know how it is going to harmonize with the more static postures of other old school miniatures.

I am too much excited... hard to stay calm... :)

  5. I really like it .
I'm wondering if people will be interested on a miniature of Malal himself....

    1. I really like this idea, especially if designed by Tony Ackland. I would like to see a model in a similar scale to the Epic daemons released in the early 90s. This way, Malal would be cheap, useable in epic and as a familiar for Warhammer

  6. Just added a post to FB to query: Is it feasible (or even desirable - you may disagree) to do these figures with separate shields and weapons as per the original Champions of Chaos box set. Indeed, could a special box set be on the cards in the future? http://www.solegends.com/citboxes/c2s1chaosw.htm

    1. There is talk from Mick and co about doing variant arms, heads and weapons once the project line gets up a running. So hopefully there is a strong possibility that this will happen.

  7. Awesome, but I prefer to see him in scale with the CH2 Chaos Warriors, so a bit larger.
